Add a New Horse

To add a horse, click on "Horses" in the menu (preceded by a horse's head), then on "Add New Horse"

Add New Horse #

The following fields are required (fields with *) :

  • Name
  • Sex
  • Owner

All other fields are optional, but preffered to be completed.


Name #

Enter the horse's name here. This name is also shown on the invoices.


Sex #

Here you enter the gender of the horse; mare, stallion or gelding.

UELN #

This stands for Universal Equine Life Number. This consists of 15 numbers and/or letters and is unique for each horse.

If you add a UELN, which is already known in Re-proVet, you will get a message that this horse is already in the system.

Chip number #

Here you can enter the chip number of the horse. It consists of 15 digits.

If you add a chip number, which is already known in Re-proVet, you will receive a message that this horse is already in the system.


Date of birth #

Here you can enter the horse's date of birth. By default, this is noted as day-month-year, so for example May 2, 1997 becomes 02-05-1997.  

Owner #

At the owner field you can select an already entered owner or, if necessary, create a new customer. After typing the name, click on 'Add new'  

Food producing #

With this check mark you can mark the horse as food producing in the database

Sire #

In this field you can enter the father of the horse.

Dam's Sire #

In this field you can enter the father of the horse's mother.

Remarks #

You can freely enter your comments in this field. For example, whether the horse needs a special treatment or has an allergy, or other information that you would like to see again.

Attachments #

Attachments can also be added to a horse, e.g. a copy of a passport, a photo, etc. 

Save #

After you have entered this information, you can then choose:  

  • Save (save the horse)
  • Save + Check In (If you want to enter the horse and put it in your stable immediately) 
  • Save + Consultation (If you are going to examine and/or treat the horse immediately)
